Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning (ZAP)

The Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning (ZAP) is a five member board with staggered terms of five years.  The ZAP members are public officers and must comply with all the requirements for public officers.  Members of the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning are required to complete ten (10) hours of training within the first two years and two (2) hours of training each year thereafter.  The ZAP Board has no authority to amend the zoning law.  The ZAP Board is only authorized to hear appeals from a decision made by an administrative official such as the building inspector, zoning enforcement officer, code enforcement officer or any other individual who is responsible for issuing permits or enforcing zoning, along with authority to approve site plans, subdivision plats, special permits or other development approvals.

The ZAP board meets the first Wednesday of each month.  To be placed on the agenda, one must do so through the board secretary located at the Village Office.  All materials must be submitted to the board ten (10) days in advance of the next meeting.
